Rhys enjoys a deserved reputation as one of the UK’s foremost experts in OSIsoft/Aveva’s PI System – the enterprise-grade backbone of the country’s power infrastructure, and has spent decades coding in various languages and working with time-series data.
Rhys has worked to solve energy and enterprise-level companies’ tech problems for more than 15 years across a variety of in-house and consultancy roles.
After stints at the likes of Shell, Wipro Technologies and Accenture, Rhys struck out on his own, eventually finding himself working on a project for Centrica, where he met a fellow problem-solver in Chris Cody and the spark that became TGG ignited.
After more than 20 years in energy, including 12 years at Centrica, it’s fair to say that Chris knows the UK power sector inside and out.
After gathering experience as an energy trading analyst, Chris moved to Centrica where he coordinated production across a 665MW CCGT power station and the wider 4GW thermal fleet. From there, he went on to serve as Operational Excellence Project Lead, sponsoring and leading a pipeline of IS improvement initiatives focused on data analytics and operational insight, primarily using OSIsoft/Aveva PI.
It was during one of these projects that Chris met Rhys and discovered a similar enthusiasm for solving the energy sector’s problems through technology. Feeling they could make more of an impact on their own, the two soon struck out and founded TGG.
